Competitors are now facing immense pressure to refine their drone piloting skills and integrate real-time telemetry into their DOPE acquisition.
The initial cold bore shot, already a high-stakes moment, now demands an unprecedented level of situational awareness. Shooters must not only account for ambient conditions — density altitude shifts, wind vectors at range, and Coriolis effect on the projectile's flight path — but also interpret live-feed thermal signatures from a DJI Mavic 3T. The challenge of calling accurate range and wind on a moving target designated by a drone, often beyond 800 yards, while simultaneously managing positional shooting fatigue from a modified barricade, is proving to be a brutal new proving ground.
