The 2025 Precision Rifle Series (PRS) Season concluded this month, crowning Morgun King the official PRS Season Champion, as reported by precisionrifleblog.com. The PRS Pro Series Season Finale, hosted by Drew Walter at Geissele Automatics near Tremont, Pennsylvania, challenged competitors with stages out to 1,118 yards and 60-90° pans.
Day 1 of the Finale featured exceptionally challenging, swirling winds—gusts from 3 to over 15 mph with nearly 100° shifts in direction. Many shooters dropped significant points. Austin Buschman, however, delivered a remarkable performance, missing only 5 shots all day, calling it one of his top three shooting days ever. Day 2 brought much lighter winds, with Ryan Beck leading by dropping only two shots.
Ultimately, Austin Buschman won the Finale match after a tie-breaker with Morgun King, who finished 2nd. Despite the match result, King's perfect season score of 300 entering the Finale secured him the Golden Bullet and the overall 2025 PRS Season Championship, making him one of only three PRS Champions to achieve a perfect season score.
King claimed the season title by just over four points, with Austin Buschman 2nd and Clay Blackketter 3rd. Ryan Beck and Nathan Toungate completed the top five. The 2025 season also highlighted the sport's global expansion, with #15 Anthony Collie (New Zealand) and #16 Josef Sixt (Germany) among the top 25, reflecting the high skill level across all Finale participants.
Buschman's Finale performance propelled him from 18th place to 2nd in the season standings, fulfilling his goal of securing both a Finale win and a 2nd place season finish. Junior shooter Gage Caples also notably climbed from 34th to 9th overall, a rare achievement for a junior to earn a top 10 bullet in the PRS Open Division.
During the regular season, Jeff Guerry achieved an unprecedented seven Pro Series match wins, a dominant performance earning him 7th place overall. The 2025 season also debuted new categories: Robert Mahaffey took 1st in the Sportsman Division (13.0-pound, 6.5 Creedmoor rifles). Ben Gossett was top-ranked in the new PRS Suppressor Category, with plans for increased payouts in 2026. King's Golden Bullet hinged on a high-pressure final stage to secure his season championship.
