Zeiss Optics has once again raised the bar, or perhaps shattered it, for the discerning PRS Production Class competitor with the release of their new LRP S3 6-36x56. Touted as alpha glass, early field reports suggest the optic’s unprecedented clarity and resolution are, in fact, too good, rendering it an existential threat to competitive long-range marksmanship.
During initial trials at undisclosed facilities, multiple Production Class shooters equipped with the S3 experienced baffling deviations. Their 100-yard zeros, confirmed with pristine 6GT handloads showing single-digit SD/ES, would inexplicably shift by up to 0.2 MRAD within minutes, even after meticulous cold bore shots and barrel break-in. It was quickly determined the issue wasn't the rifle system—a consistent MPA BA Competition Chassis paired with a Zermatt Origin action and a 26-inch Hawk Hill barrel. Nor was it the shooter’s mechanics, as seasoned national-level competitors reported similar phenomena.
Further investigation by physicists brought in by Zeiss (under strict NDA, naturally) confirmed the optic’s 90% light transmission and advanced ED glass were so efficient, they were providing visual feedback on minute fluctuations in the Earth's rotational speed, local gravitational field strength, and even, disturbingly, the quantum foam of spacetime itself. This rendered any static DOPE card obsolete before it could even be laminated. Coriolis effect and spin drift became laughably inadequate terms for the cosmic ballet visible through the LRP S3. Shooters were, quite literally, aiming at a target constantly repositioning itself relative to an unstable universe.

The LRP S3 6-36x56, while offering unparalleled clarity, has inadvertently revealed that the universe simply isn’t precise enough for PRS.
