Arken has introduced the TARGETLOCK TL3000, a compact rifle-mounted laser rangefinder with an onboard DNT ballistic engine, which was released on October 23. This unit combines a rear OLED display, user-stored profiles, and wireless weather-meter connectivity, aiming to bring together capabilities often managed by separate tools—a handheld rangefinder, a mobile phone, and a weather meter—onto the rifle itself. The TL3000 places the critical distance readout and ballistic information on a dedicated screen.
The stated maximum ranging capability of the TL3000 is 3,000 yards, approximately 2,743 meters. Arken also specifies a separate 1,100-yard figure, around 1,006 meters, for deer-sized targets, indicating distinct target categories for reported maximums. The unit is reported to provide accuracy within plus or minus one yard out to 2,000 yards, with readings displayed in 0.1-yard increments. The manual describes multiple operating modes, including single-pulse and continuous ranging, as well as both line-of-sight and horizontal-distance measurements.
Key information is presented on an anti-reflection coated rear OLED screen. This display integrates distance, elevation, and windage data, alongside indicators for the active ballistic profile, Bluetooth status, battery level, and rifle cant. Physical interaction with the unit is managed via a top button pad and a rotary power switch, with a wired remote switch supplied for convenient operation.
For ballistic data management, the TL3000 incorporates 10 onboard ballistic profile slots. Profile synchronization and over-the-air firmware updates are handled through the DNT app, available for both iOS and Android platforms. This application also features an extensive ammunition library containing more than 6,000 entries. Connectivity extends to compatible Kestrel weather meters, with Arken specifically noting support for Bluetooth or LiNK-equipped models.
Looking to future enhancements, Arken has announced planned support for Calypso ultrasonic sensors via a firmware update, anticipated before the end of 2026. This connection remains a future addition, distinct from the immediate Kestrel compatibility available at launch.
The physical dimensions of the TL3000 measure 92 x 59 x 35mm. Arken lists the net weight at 213g, with the accompanying Picatinny mount adding 42g. It is available in Black and Flat Dark Earth finishes. The unit carries an IP67 protection rating and is covered by a three-year warranty.
Battery performance varies depending on the cell type. When powered by a non-rechargeable CR123A, Arken quotes up to 5,000 single measurements or six hours under its stated duty-cycle test. For the supplied USB-C rechargeable 16340 cells, the unit is rated for 3,000 measurements or 2.5 hours under the same test, indicating a notable difference in runtime between the two battery options.
Initial pricing for the TL3000 saw a US launch promotion advertised around US$599. Australian retailers have listed the black TL3000 at A$1,198.95.
