Hornady has announced a significant update to its Lock-N-Load Classic Pro reloading press, a design that Hornady engineers have refined with precision reloaders in mind. Rather than leaving a proven design untouched, Hornady revisited the original Classic Lock-N-Load press, reworking its components to enhance durability and operational longevity.
According to Hornady, seventeen individual features of the original press have been refined to bring it up to "Pro-level standards." These enhancements range from precision-machined surfaces to the integration of brass bushings and precision-toleranced primer cups. The aim of these upgrades is to provide reloaders with a smoother press stroke and results that are tighter and more repeatable, fostering the kind of consistency crucial for competitive shooting downrange.
Built for precision reloaders who prioritize reliability, smooth operation, and straightforward upkeep, the Classic Pro press features a robust construction. It utilizes a cast aluminum frame and toggle, finished with precision-machined surfaces, which Hornady states hold exceptionally tight tolerances for round-after-round accuracy. The combination of brass bushings paired with polished steel components is designed to deliver a silky-smooth and consistent press stroke from the initial pull to the final stage of reloading.
The press retains Hornady's established Lock-N-Load Die Bushing system, a feature that has made the original press a staple for its ability to allow quick, tool-free die swaps without compromising repeatable accuracy. Further enhancing the user experience, an integrated grease zerk has been added, alongside the use of top-tier materials throughout the press, aiming for consistent, round-after-round accuracy over a lifetime of use. The integrated Lock-N-Load Die Caddy also offers practical organization for dies and Allen wrenches, doubling as a stand for a powder measure.
New for late 2026, the Lock-N-Load Classic Pro press by Hornady will also be available in a convenient Accuracy Kit. This comprehensive package is presented as containing everything needed to begin reloading with confidence, designed to streamline any setup and simplify the process for precision-focused handloaders.
Each Hornady Lock-N-Load Classic Pro Accuracy Kit includes the Classic Pro press itself, along with a Lock-N-Load case prep trio, a digital caliper, a premium powder funnel kit, and Hornady’s Auto Charge Pro powder scale. Additionally, the kit provides ten Hornady Lock-N-Load bushings, three Hornady Sure-Lock lock rings, a universal reloading block, and a bottle of One Shot case lube. Reloading dies and shell holders, critical for specific calibers, are available separately.
