Taurus has officially entered the suppressor market with the introduction of its TTX Suppressor Series, marking the first time the company has offered suppressors under its own name. The initial lineup consists of three distinct models: the TTX22 for rimfire platforms, the TTX9C designed for pistol-caliber carbines, and the TTX30, engineered for a broad range of .30-caliber rifles. The series is priced between $299.99 and $599.99.
Bret Vorhees, president and CEO of Taurus USA, stated that entering the suppressor category was "a natural next step" for a company with a long history in the firearms industry and a diverse product range. Taurus developed this series with input from experienced suppressor engineers, ensuring a design intended for widespread compatibility. Vorhees clarified that these TTX suppressors are built for a wide array of firearms, extending beyond those bearing the Taurus roll mark.
A key design element across all three TTX models is their construction from sintered titanium, utilizing an additive manufacturing process rather than traditional machining from bar stock. This approach contributes to a notably light overall weight, with the smallest model weighing under four ounces. Each suppressor incorporates a monocore baffle design, finished with a high-temperature Cerakote C-Series coating.
Beyond sound attenuation, Taurus reports that the internal geometry of the TTX suppressors was engineered to actively manage gas flow. This design work aims to soften the recoil impulse, mitigate back pressure—a critical consideration for carbine users where excess gas can affect the shooter—and maintain a consistent point of impact shot-to-shot. Taurus rates each model in the series for up to 30 dB of sound reduction.
The TTX22 is the most compact of the new offerings, measuring 5.5 inches in length and 1 inch in diameter, with a weight of 3.71 ounces. It features a 1/2x28 thread mount and is rated for .22 LR, .22 WMR, and .17 HMR cartridges. Taurus specifically designed this model with its TX22 pistol in mind. The TTX22 is the most accessible price point in the series, listing at $299.99.
For pistol-caliber carbines, Taurus introduces the TTX9C. Distinguished as a dedicated carbine suppressor, it utilizes a 1/2x28 direct-thread mount suitable for fixed-barrel platforms like pistol-caliber carbines and compact 9 mm firearms, such as the Taurus RPC. This model foregoes a booster assembly. Optimized for 9 mm, the TTX9C is also rated for .380 ACP, .32 ACP, and .22 LR. It measures 7 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter, weighing 11.5 ounces, and carries a price of $599.99.
Rifle shooters are addressed by the TTX30, the largest suppressor in the new series. It measures 7.5 inches long, 1.75 inches in diameter, and weighs 14.31 ounces. The TTX30 mounts via a 5/8x24 direct-thread system and is designed to handle a wide range of .30-caliber cartridges, from .300 Blackout up to .300 Win. Mag., including .308 Win. and 7.62x39 mm. It is also rated for 6.5 mm Creedmoor. This model is geared toward hunters, precision shooters, and general-purpose rifle builds, pairing naturally with Taurus’s Expedition bolt-action rifle. The TTX30 is priced at $599.99.
