782 Custom Gunworks has introduced the "HUNDO," a new 100-round loading block aiming to provide precision rifle reloaders with a more refined option for their benches. The designer behind the HUNDO brings over two decades of dedicated experience at the reloading bench, a period marked by both successful load development and frustration with common reloading accessories. This extensive background informed the development of the HUNDO, driven by a desire to overcome the perceived flaws in many existing loading trays. After refining multiple models since 2016, the HUNDO represents what the designer considers the optimal iteration of their loading block concept, addressing specific criteria identified through years of handloading for precision.
Constructed from US-made 6061 Aluminum, the HUNDO loading block emphasizes durability and stability. The block is then clear coated with a type-3 hard anodizing, imparting a distinctive "cool grey look" and enhancing surface resilience, a critical factor for equipment regularly exposed to powders and solvents at the reloading bench. Its substantial construction is further complemented by a set of rubber feet, strategically placed to prevent the block from sliding or shifting during critical reloading operations, ensuring a stable platform for cartridge organization and powder charging. This combination of robust materials and thoughtful finishing speaks to a design focused on long-term utility and reliable performance for high-volume precision reloading.
A key design feature of the HUNDO is its versatile stepped holes. These precisely machined apertures are engineered to accommodate both .223 Remington and .308 Winchester-sized cartridge cases, catering to a wide range of popular precision rifle calibers without requiring multiple dedicated loading blocks. The stepped design offers an additional, practical benefit for reloaders: it effectively supports most .308 bottleneck cartridges when they are inverted, a common practice during powder charging or inspection. Further enhancing its utility, the HUNDO incorporates a centralized powder drain hole, a detail that can simplify cleanup and prevent powder accumulation, streamlining the reloading process and maintaining a tidy workspace for competitive shooters focused on consistency.
The culmination of years of iterative design and hands-on reloading experience, the HUNDO aims to distinguish itself in a category often overlooked despite its functional importance. 782 Custom Gunworks highlights its robust construction, versatile cartridge support, and practical features as central to its appeal. The designer expresses a strong conviction that the HUNDO will serve as "the last reloading tray you ever need," underscoring a commitment to lasting utility and user satisfaction for dedicated precision reloaders. For competitors and enthusiasts meticulously crafting their ammunition, the introduction of a purpose-built, durable loading block offers a compelling option to enhance bench efficiency and organization.
