Bergara has unveiled the Premier Competition Elite, a new factory rifle aimed squarely at PRS-style competition. This release broadens the company's competition rifle offerings, notably by integrating the MDT ACC Elite chassis and an expanded selection of chamberings. For shooters contemplating a custom build, the Premier Competition Elite presents a complete, out-of-the-box solution, combining Bergara’s Premier barreled action with established specialist components.

Central to the Premier Competition Elite’s identity is its MDT ACC Elite chassis. This competition-specific chassis features a full-length ARCA forend and M-LOK attachment points, providing ample real estate for accessories and barricade management. The design also incorporates an adjustable grip and an extensively adjustable buttstock, the MDT SRS-X Elite. This buttstock allows for tool-free adjustments of the cheek rest, length of pull, and buttpad position, directly addressing shooter comfort and fit. Furthermore, the ACC Elite is designed to accommodate optional weights, allowing competitors to fine-tune balance and mitigate recoil. The inclusion of such a purpose-built chassis from the factory means shooters seeking an ACC Elite do not need to factor in a replacement stock.

The new Premier Competition Elite expands Bergara's chambering catalogue significantly for its competition line. The US range includes .22 Creedmoor, .25 Creedmoor, 6mm Dasher, 6mm GT, 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .308 Winchester. All seven options are listed at the same advertised MSRP. This breadth offers competitors more flexibility in aligning a factory rifle with their existing ammunition supply, equipment, and specific competition strategies, rather than being limited to a few cartridge choices.

This new release represents a notable shift from Bergara’s previous US Premier Competition model, which featured an MPA BA chassis, a 26-inch barrel, and a more limited selection of three chamberings. That prior model, with a US$2,699 MSRP, is now listed under Bergara’s discontinued range. The change in chassis alone marks the new Premier Competition Elite as a distinct offering, rather than a mere update or rebranding.

An important distinction for prospective buyers lies in differentiating the new US Competition Elite from an earlier international Premier Elite model. That international variant paired an MDT ACC Elite chassis with a TriggerTech Diamond trigger. However, the new US Competition Elite instead lists the TriggerTech Special. This difference in trigger specification, along with potential variations in supplied magazines or available chamberings across markets, means familiar model names and similar appearances do not guarantee identical components. Shooters assessing value or comparing dealer descriptions should remain aware of these market-specific configurations.
