The official Team USA roster for the 2026 IPRF Centerfire World Championship has been finalized after an 18-month qualification process. These selected precision rifle shooters will represent the United States on the global stage at Gravestone Precision Shooting Range near Lipan, Texas, from September 24–27, 2026. The venue, near Fort Worth, is recognized as a world-class facility featuring diverse props, target presentations, and terrain.
The rigorous qualification process demanded consistent performance across at least six designated top-level matches. Crucially, these matches varied significantly in terrain, props, and stage design philosophies, compelling competitors to demonstrate adaptability and sustained excellence against the sport's deepest fields. This approach ensured selection of shooters capable of peak performance across diverse conditions, preparing them for international competition.
The Open Division, widely regarded as the most competitive field in precision rifle shooting, saw six spots filled. Securing one of these positions required world-class performance at every qualifier match over the entire 18-month period. As 2019 PRS Champion Clay Blackketter observed, "Over time, and over enough rounds, the best shooters separate themselves," underscoring that sustained elite performance, rather than sporadic wins, was paramount for Open Division selection.
For the Limited Division, all qualifying scores had to be shot using a .308 Winchester in the PRS Tactical Division. The Factory Division required scores from a PRS Production rifle in the Production Division or an IPRF-approved Factory rifle. Both divisions established minimum score thresholds for qualification. Any remaining spots not filled by direct qualification were allocated to the next-highest ranked Open Division shooters, resulting in two Open Division members joining the Limited Division and one filling a Factory Division spot. Earning a place in these divisions demanded similar commitment and consistency within their specific equipment categories.
The 2026 IPRF Centerfire World Championship will feature four days of competition. Each team is scheduled to shoot on two of these days, with a dedicated rest day. Individual competitors will fire approximately 200 rounds across 20 stages. Spectators are invited to attend in person.
